This was an absolutely stunning debut by David Yoon. I was so excited to see this book here on Bookish First, because it was one of my most anticipated reads of Fall 2019. I love the way that Yoon explored the disconnect between cultures. Although this book is marketed as a young adult book, I think there are many lessons that all ages will be able to take from this book. I was emotionally invested with all of the characters, and I loved the way that Yoon wrote. It is hard to believe that this is his first novel. The craft of his skill was unlike any that I have read, and this was, overall, a simple good story. So many writers try too hard, and that was not the case with this book. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone!
