This book is an entertaining, yet simple read. Probably more suited to a beach day, rather than an emotional commitment (weird how books can emulate relationships in that sense.

When I picked out the book, I did not realize it was written towards a young-adult audience, but I was not disappointed. I have to admit that I have become a little snobby about writing style since reading classics in college, but this novel wasn't pandering to the teens meant to read it.

The plot was simple, but relatable and still interesting. Even though the sequence of the plot was a little predictable, it still helped me understand a bit about a culture about which I had no previous experience. Being a white girl from a small town, the look into the dynamics of a Korean household was intriguing.

I recommend, as a quick and fun read!
