I hated this book
The description of the book, the cover, and even the author set us up for a book that would take us on an adventure, that wow us with the characters, who happens to be extremely diverse. However, the book was a major let down. I couldn’t get past page 200. It was cliche, the writing was trash, and the characters very predictable, and 2 dimensional. While I appreciated the diversity, I disliked the storyline. It was like every other YA novel, but worse. It was also extremely boring, and the main character was very unlikable. As an American immigrant, I understood his struggles, and now he tried to make his parents happy while fitting in American society. I loved the concept, and loved how I could’ve related to the character in that sense. But the book was such a let down. I didn’t think the execution of the book was done that well. Otherwise, it probably would’ve been one of my favorite books.
