I haven't read a YA book in a while, but reading stories like this one remind me why I do enjoy these stories.

At first, I assumed this was a very light-hearted story that would keep me laughing throughout. Although it did keep me laughing, this book had a wonderful combination of wit, charm, and romance, interwoven with heavier topics, such as as racism and cultural differences. It serves as a reminder of the harsh reality of growing up in a country where you aren't sure where you truly belong. Apart from race, I feel like this book is relatable to anyone who feels like they don't know where they fit in at times.

I could relate to a lot of what Frank experienced throughout the book, from having parents that didn't start with a lot coming to this country, but made something of themselves through hard work and perseverance. The romance and banter in this book between the "Limbos" (Frank's term for Korean-American children who find themselves wedged in-between their American upbringing and their cultural background) was hilarious, and I loved reading the inner-thoughts of Frank throughout the story.

Thank you to Penguin Teen and Bookish First for this ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
