Frank Li is a typical high school student with a big problem. His Korean parents have very set plans for his future, including his schooling as well as his love life. They only want him to date a fellow Korean, which as Frank does the math based on population in Californian where he lives--he estimates there may be one Korean girl every three miles.
Frank is falling in love for the first time with someone his parents will not approve of. His friend Joy is in the same position and together they hatch a plan to keep their parents happy. This book does such a good job painting the complete picture of a culture I do not understand. The story is told from Frank's point of view and he is a very endearing character. I
