I'm so glad this is not your typical cookie cutter young adult book where popular gorgeous character falls in love with the underdog. Frank is a nerd who is trying to balance what he wants with keeping his family happy. After seeing his sister Hanna's decision to love someone his parents didn't approve of negate all the things she did "right" in their eyes, he's reluctant to do the same. Frank is going to have to learn to stand up to his parents and I'm hoping that's one of the lessons he learns in this story. Fake relationship stories usually end up with the characters falling for each other unintentionally so we shall see if that remains the case in this book. One thing I love about this book is that the relationships are interracial. We need more of those to show that love goes beyond skin color and that we also need to learn that we can't always make everyone happy. I can't wait to see how Frank's story plays out. Who doesn't love a good "first love" story?
