This was an excellent first look into what I hope will be an excellent novel. Reminiscent of John Green, Frankly in Love had heart, wit, and lots of relatable and nerdy characters that felt close to my heart. David Yoon’s debut novel is just like any other contemporary novel at a glance, but what’s special about it is the appreciation the story gives to the main characters struggle with his true identity as a Korean-American, his cultural clash with his parents, and his desire to grow into himself. I can’t wait to read this stunning debut novel for myself.
