I think it super important YA is becoming more diverse with their characters and authors. Growing up, I read the same characters with the same ethnic (if even) sidekicks by the same authors. Mainstream media does not believe stories like the ones David Yoon and his wife, Nicola Yoon (novelist) create would sale, but they do and they will. Readers really just want to relate to the story. And I think David Yoon did just that with this book. I'm so excited to support him and read his story. Also, I love a minimalist cover design.
