I received an ARC of this from BookCon... and literally almost died to get it, I swear. Like, there was a mob to get one of these and my life flashed before my eyes while I tried not to get trampled even though I was the tallest person there. But it was so worth it and I'd do it all over again 1,000 times if I had to! This is hands down the best book I've read all year! I am deceased from the emotional rollercoaster that was this story.
I can honestly say that I have never read a book like this one. Four Dead Queens is a masterfully built world that is a blend of fantasy and sci-fi and investigative murder mystery. Astrid Scholte interwove so many epic twists and turns that I sincerely could not see coming.
Seriously do yourself a favor and get this book. The characters are amazing - I loved having the perspectives of the queens interwoven with the main character's narrative - the world building is phenomenal, and the plot is absolutely insane! Even though I have an ARC, I pre-ordered a hard-cover copy because I loved it so much. I couldn't put it down and cannot recommend this enough!
