I think this book has lots of promise! I am not normally a fan of politically themed stories, but this one seems to be promising. I am a sucker for murder mysteries though, so that probably has a lot to do with it.
I am shocked already by the turn of events that have taken place so far, so I eagerly await the release of this book!
I am thrilled at the idea of a murderer running around the palace and how they connect to the messenger, Kera and Mack. I am guessing that Kera and the messenger have to become allies while they are on the run from Mack, which makes for an interesting betrayal theme. I am also calling it right now that the messenger and Mack are the FDQ equivalents of the Grishaverse love triangle, Mal and The Darkling. I can already tell that the messenger is a love interest just based on "the man looked to be about my age", and the same for Mack when Kera and the other thief were arguing about her and Mack.
I look forward to learning more about the queens individually, and as the title promises, how they die.
