I'd like to preface this by saying that I am not a fan of mysteries but have seen this book recommended several times.
I found it in the bargain section of a bookstore and finally decided to give it a chance.

The concept was interesting. I appreciate the shot at strong female characters. However, what I couldn't get behind was the queer representation. It was one of those books where their inclusion felt superficial since they were only there to be offed. The ableism in the books is also something I couldn't get behind. I wish I had read reviews before reading the book.

I had no issue with the characters themselves though, or at least they weren't so bad that I wanted to put the book down. The concept of the book was interesting enough that I had to finish the book despite the things that I didn't like about the book. If not for the interesting potential of the plot, I would have DNF'd
