I loved this book! Not only is it fantasy but a "whodunit" as well. I loved the pacing and the characters. Sometimes authors get overly detailed in describing characters, but this was perfect enough for me to be able to visualize the characters without getting bored by them. The world building was great as well. I found myself trying to imagine each district and wondering which I'd want to be in. The idea that each queen is limited to the characteristics of a specific area and certain criteria based on location was an interesting concept. I couldn't stop myself from reading this sorry and It was so good that I never wanted to put it down. Those are the books that you want to re-read because they're so good that you can genuinely reading them again. There were lots of twists throughout it and up until the end. I love that this was a standalone story and that the author found an amazing way to tell the story in a way that kept the elements of mystery and suspense. Hopefully, she will write more stories like this. I'd definitely recommend reading it.
