This was a great debut novel full of twists and turns!! I received it in a box subscription a while ago and finally got around to reading it. I enjoyed the multi-layered plot and multiple point of views. I feel that having so many perspectives for a reader to experience a story from can be difficult to execute, yet this debut author does it very well. I felt as though each of the queens, side characters, and two main characters were all developed nicely. The shifting perspectives actually helped the reader feel the impact of the loss that happens throughout this book (it is a murder mystery after all). I do however feel this should not be a stand alone novel. There is a huge potential for a follow up novel so, while I enjoyed the book overall, the ending didn't give the closure of a stand alone novel so I am hoping for more.
