This book had everything I love in a mystery: there were abrupt and completely unexpected plot twists, people were framed, and more. Murder mysteries are the only kind of non-fantasy novels I can tolerate, so having a fantasy murder mystery to read is great for me. I binge read this book for a few hours and finished it relatively quickly. It was really just really good, and I wanted more. Despite the heavy world-building, it was easy to know what was going on and to understand the characters too. I think anybody who likes murder mysteries and fantasy should read this book. However, it’s also just a great fantasy novel that I think a lot of people I know would enjoy. I loved reading this book and I wish I could find even more material like this. I really need to reread this eventually, because it was worth remembering better than I do now. (I just really love assassins too)
