I absolutely loved this book. This was the first book I have read by Astrid Scholte and I plan to read so many more. Let me start out by saying, typically I am the sort of person to see/detect plot twists before they happen. But with this book I didn't see any of the twists or turns that came. Not to mention that I fell in love with the two main characters, Keralie and Varin. Also the world building was very unique but did not drag on too long or take away from the plot in any way. I loved how each country was very unique and while reading I felt transported to the different places. The added murder mystery just furthers the plot. While reading, I didn;t know who to trust or what people's agendas were. I think this book did an amazing job of mixing a fantasy world with a murder mystery. I have nothing but positive things to say about this book and I would highly recommend it!
