Let me start out by saying that there aren't many young adult murder mysteries set in a fantasy world. That's what makes this book so unique. While I can acknowledge that Keralie is a character that many teens and even adults can relate to because she is a character haunted by her past mistakes, I couldn't help but relate to each of the characters of the four queens in some way. Each queen had her secrets; and each queen also felt trapped in some way. This makes them in my opinion very relatable characters although not each queen was likable. I loved the way this story was written in the perspectives of many of the different characters, as well as the mystery and adventure aspect of the story. I don't always hold on to every book I read, but this one was worth keeping. I loved it!
