First of all, that cover is so beautiful, and the longer you look at it, the more little details you notice (it took me about five minutes to notice the little DNA strands on one crown). Kudos to the artist and cover designer.

The story itself was really compelling; I was sucked in right from the beginning, and read the entire book in one sitting. I liked the world-building, with the four queens and the four quadrants (and the explanation of why the country was run that way). I love a good mystery, and I spent the whole book trying to see if I could figure out who the assassin was. What a thrilling story!

This book has gotten a lot of buzz, and I feel like it deserves the accolades it's received.

My only minor quibble is that the romance felt a little bit rushed, but that's not terribly uncommon in YA anyway, and it was still pretty cute, so I'm not mad about it.
