First of all let me say the cover of this book is beautiful. Very understated but elegant at the same time. I really thought this was going to be a four or five star read but it ended up being just ok for me. I think there was a bit of a disconnect with the characters which made it hard for me to care about them. None of the characters were fully developed and it left me wanting much more. I also really wanted more out of the romance element because it seemed rushed and a little hard to believe. There were things I enjoyed like the world-building (could also use more details here too) but there wasn’t enough to get me to the point where I couldn’t put the book down. I did see the twist coming and wish it was more of a surprise. The ending was also a little too neat for my tastes and was way too hasty as well.
