Astrid Scholte’s debut novel doesn’t disappoint. I could not put this book down and had to know how it ended. I loved Keralie’s journey from the street right through to the Royal Palace and did not guess the ending until it was near the end. I liked all the interactions between the characters especially the Four Queens, although some were gone far too soon to really get to know them. I went to a book signing and was told there is a Easter egg spoiler hidden in the crowns on the front, but even after knowing how this book turns out I still am yet to work it out. Fantastic read from beginning to end and I would highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to see what Astrid gives us in The Vanishing Deep!
