I'm not a big fan of fantasy, but sometimes, if it is done well, it reads more like historical fiction and I can deal with it. But when it has magic, evil spells, etc... I don't care for it. Not sure which version of fantasy this will be.
I also am a lover of YA fiction, and with the characters in this story being teens, that is another reason to believe that this one might be something I'd enjoy reading.
