To be completely honest, the high fantasy genre usually isn’t my type of read but, honestly, I’m open to exploring all kinds of new books (high fantasy being a genre I would like to try by the end of the year). This one didn’t suck me right way... I wanted it to, but the writing, subject matter, characters, etc didn’t really do it for me. The cover art, while well done and beautiful, didn’t quite excite me either. To each their own. I’m sure this book will appeal to many fantasy readers!
