Honestly, I'm a bit burnt out on this slew of queenly fantasy coming out. Don't get me wrong, I love fantasy. I love queens. But with nothing really unique or standout about it....eh. The first impression is very reminiscent of Maas's MC TBH. I will admit I feel for that series at first, but I came to my senses.
I am very over the whole woman MC feeling guilty about something she keeps hidden from the reader. 9 times out 10, it ends up being some BS that they shouldn't feel guilty about but they're conditioned to do so by the patriarchy, and the hero just loves to swoop in and console her and isn't it so sweet?!?
