Maybe I’m just old and cranky, but as we head into the new year, one thing stands out—time is fleeting and it’s precious. I want to be wowed by a book—I want it to make me want to be invested in the time it takes to read it. This one doesn’t do it for me. The cover would not make me pick this up and the premise doesn’t interest me at all. And as the first paragraph is a painstaking description of a flight attendant, I’m not even drawn to read more.
