Elias is clearly not human and his speech and prose show that. It's all written very formally which will either be annoying or clever to the reader. It took me a little bit to get used to, but even in the short preview, I wasn't mad with it. Ophelia's sections are written more like normal narration. She clearly has something supernatural happening with her too, she just doesn't know it yet.

The chapter orientation feels very... clunky. The chapters are very short, sometimes only one page. It's supposed to show the characters' lives before they inevitably collide, but something about how this was set up just didn't work for me.

I do not have BPD but already the description of the mom who has BPD has me questioning how much thought went into that representation.

The cover is clearly pretty, but maybe a touch generic?
