We're pulled right into this world of intrigue and underlying darkness that haunts our two main characters as they go about their separate lives. There is a bit of telling and some of it is wordy (action sentences are usually short and to the point, especially fight scenes), which had me reading more than once to understand what was going on. I love a good urban fantasy but this one wasn't appealing to me.
Not a fan of the cover as it doesn't seem to match up with the type of story that it is. It gives me a 'necromancer' fantasy vibe, possibly reapers and secret cults, and not the urban fantasy as I thought it would be.
