The author engaged me with this story immediately. The reader was not bogged down with a lot of description or background at the beginning, as is the case too often. The author got right to the plot and filled the reader in while the action and plot were moving forward. I’m not much of a fantasy reader, but I found what I’ve read so far to be quite engaging.
