Oh boy- I really dislike the cover! But, BookishFirst is a wonderful way to taste test new genres and the author’s bio sounded good so I did read the first 10 pages. That was enough for me to determine that this would be a suspenseful, action-packed read. Ultimately, I think the fantasy elements are just too strong for my preference.
