This book started out a little slow. I think the main problem for me was the fact that when you start this book, you start out in the middle of a conflict that has already occurred. You spend much of the book seemingly trying to catch up to what is going on. I think another issue I had was all of the lore and history that you seemed to be in the dark on from the very beginning.
Originally I did not love this aspect of the book, however, over time I realized that this was on purpose and it was very important to the story later on. Looking back now I appreciate the way that this was executed.
The end of the book really won me over. It was heart warming and made me smile. I found myself whipping through the end of the story to see what would happen. I appreciate the opportunity to read this book from bookish first. I would absolutely recommend it to romance lovers.
