First and foremost, the cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I was truly hoping that the story within the cover would be just as magical; but unfortunately it wasn't as amazing as I hoped it would be.

I love a good slow burn in a story, but this romance felt a little too slow for me, to the point where it made the pace of the story drag. I did appreciate how lighthearted the romance in this story was though; I just wish the pacing of it was better.

I thought the magical realism was a wonderful part of the story, and the author handled that beautifully. But there were some parts of the world building that came across a bit strange for me, and left me wondering how this place exists in the larger world.

I also had a lot of unanswered questions when finishing this book. I usually don't mind when some aspects of a story are left unanswered or left up to interpretation. But here, I wish more aspects had been tied up.
