I was really intrigued by the premise of this book and the two main characters--Raf and Yas. I appreciated how they each had their own storylines, but that they were intricately tied together. I was particularly fascinated by the magic of both the Golub tree and the once-colorful seas of Moonlight Bay. While the story did take some time to pick up and there were moments when I wanted to know more about the Golub people and the mystery of the change in the colorful sea, I enjoyed how the story started to pick up more as I kept reading. As I neared the end, I didn't want to stop reading and enjoyed seeing how some of the "plot hints" the author had dropped along the way were picked up and brought to closure by the end. I really enjoyed the friendship between Raf and Yas and how supportive they were of each other, and how their relationship grew and developed over time. Overall, I enjoyed this book and am glad I read it!
