'Forty Words For Love' is a Young Adult read that intrigued me enough to hook me. Moonlight Bay was apparently a magical place before this novel starts. You hear the story through the voices of Raf and Yas. Yas is an old-timer in Moonlight Bay and thus has many reasons to mourn the losses Moonlight Bay has experienced. Raf is from Golub and lives with other Golub 'people' in Willow Forest on the edge of Moonlight Bay. Raf has been a part of Moonlight Bay for eleven years and also mourns the changes that have taken place. As the story unfolds both Raf and Yas will have to embrace more changes and make decisions as to their destiny amidst the change. I really liked understanding where the title came from. The story was leading up to the divulge all along but caught me off guard. I definitely recommend this for young adults but as a senior citizen reader I liked it as well. The romance factor was low-key and the story had enough surprising twists to keep me reading. Thanks to Bookish First and Penguin Random House for getting this ARC into my hands. I give it four stars!
