This book blew me away with the immersive and powerful story telling. As soon as i picked it up, putting this book down was not an option. It went in my bag with me to dentist appointments, work break rooms, and sleepless nights in bed. This story kept me engaged until the very last page, and I recommend it to anyone needing to take a step back from their own life and join a new world if only for a little while. Trying to err from putting spoilers in my review, the narrative was far from cookie cutter. There are plot devices and elements I definitely did NOT see coming. The author writes masterfully, and ensures that everything she says has a purpose in the overall arc of the characters and story of the book. The two main protagonists stole my heart and made me feel like I knew them. This is a sure recommendation I will be sharing with many of my book lovers.
