The cover is gorgeous and made me have high hopes that I was going to love this novel. However, the magical system and world building seems very thin and not well explained. I kept waiting for something more to happen, some action that would make me want to keep reading, but nothing. I also found myself not really caring about either of the dual point of view characters.
