At its heart this story seems like a discussion of family and whether personal wants and needs supersedes the needs of the family/collective. Even though these two groups of people are so different- tree swelling communal people vs modern town locals, they’re both facing the same issues. I’m intrigued how they’ll deal with these issues, as well as the issues of their dying town.
