I agree with other reviewers who commented that this (very generous) First Look left them with more questions than answers. In some ways that is a positive, because I really wanted to keep reading to find out! But I was also a little confused about whether this very realistic story was going to take a dystopian turn in the vein of The Hunger Games. The cover image is pretty but bland, and doesn't provide many helpful clues. An initial comparison read would be Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson, but I'll have to wait and find out more about the Trials to see if that holds up as a read-alike.
