This already looks like an amazing read. Looking at both the treatment of juveniles and trying to ‘rehabilitate’ them and also how forgiveness works. Forgiveness of one’s self is extremely difficult and made even more so by familial influence and other biases. It is a very tragic sounding story and there are already points that are upsetting (like Violetta seemingly being a forgotten child). I would love to read more and I’m rooting for Violetta! I also love the cover showing the fence turning into freedom through flight! Beautiful illustrations.
