The First Look does a great job of instantly drawing you into the story and stoking your curiosity about what is to come. What are the trials? How they can they possibly lead to forgiveness? Are they really as terrible as the foreshadowing implies? The pain of losing a sibling combined with the guilt of being involved seems like a harsh enough punishment. Seems like a fun read for teens looking for a The Hunger Games type book without the dystopia.
