This was a very interesting book. It’s told from two different POVs in very different years. It took a long time to pick up, but ultimately I’m glad I stuck with it. I would describe it as a cross between the Hunger Games and the Handsmaids Tale with a lot of influencer culture. I loved how this book really took a turn in the middle when Marlow find out about her family and she escapes. I liked Orla and Floss’s relationship and how that morphs from strangers to friends to colleagues and then falls apart.

I found this book very easy to visualize especially the NYC scenes. It says a lot about our culture these days that we aren’t too far off from having social media right in our bodies. We already have Apple watches! It’s pretty close!
