Reading the synopsis, I thought there was no way in hell I would be interested in this book. I have no care whatsoever about celebrities and have even less interest reading about people who dream of being celebrities. And besides, where the hell does the terrorist attack thing come in? It sounds so random that it's ridiculous.

But.

After reading the First Look, I'm actually rather surprised. The chapter about Marlowe was much more interesting than I could have imagined. She is literally on a live feed everywhere except in restrooms, changing rooms, and doctor's offices. Her brain is linked to whatever it is that drives this, and she gets thoughts from "the network" that remind her to put herself back on display if she has stayed too long in a restroom.

There are little tidbits that are dark and foreboding, such as the mention of Orla's last day and the blood on her shirt.

Against everything I expected, I am eager to figure out what in the heck is going on in this book.
