I thought this excerpt was so good. Reading Orla's point-of-view felt so painfully real, from the ridiculous clickbait posts she hates making to her novel-writing process (not as quick as she likes, thanks to reality TV in the background). Reading this timeline felt almost like non-fiction, and the writing was so smart, I was hooked on this book from the first few pages. Marlow's 2050's future was definitely creepy, from how she is told to dress to how she can't really talk to her friends/co-workers anywhere. Even though her timeline is set thirty-five years into the future, it really only felt like fifteen minutes away. I love the bright colours and the simple silhouettes that make up the cover. The colours caught my attention, and the silhouettes of the characters made me want to know more, just like the excerpt. I'm looking forward to learning more about all three of the characters' worlds, and how technology plays such a huge part in this book. I'm definitely going to be checking out the whole book when it comes out!
