Once again, YA books leave me wishing I had never started them, but this wasn't as bad as many I have tried before. Ava, born into a family of magic (are all YA books centered on magic?) misses the moment of her grandmother's death where the magical blessings get passed on to those who are present. She was late and her blessing was accidentally transferred to a strange boy. Ava doesn't usually care to know strangers, but she must in order to get the blessing.
