In Ava’s family, the women are given blessings at someone’s deathbed. Ava’s grandmother has been close to dying for awhile and Ava has been at her side through many scares. This time, the real time, Ava doesn’t make it home in time for her blessing. She got into a car accident rushing home and finds out later that her grandmother tried to send her blessing to her remotely. Ava was talking to the guy who’s truck she hit and he got her blessing. Ava doesn’t know what the blessing is or even how to find the guy.
So much potential here for a wonderful story. If I had the points, I would be grabbing this one. It’s been on my wishlist since I heard of it. Magical realism is my favorite genre.
