The cover is cute and reminds me of similar books I've seen come out in the YA genre. I think it's got a great color scheme and it's clear that this book will feature a lead character of color. However, the summary / first impression really confuses me. I don't understand what the deal is with ghost grandmother. Either way, it looks like a typical YA romance, but I'm assuming it's actually fantasy or magical realism? Tbh, it's a bit confusing genre wise at the moment, but I suppose if I ever had time to get around to it, it would be interesting to see how this fleshes out. Or I could look up some reviews later when it comes out! Would probably be a better fit elsewhere.
