This book has a little bit of everything in it. It has dragons, orphans, war, and a tournament. It is beautifully written and the character names are unique in their own way. This book is all about adventure and children learning what decisions they should make as they grow up. Should they do what is right or wrong? Should they step up to defeat their enemies or should they let others do it? It also talks about the idea of family and how families are thought of in different ways. Which "family" is more important? Should you side with the family you have or the family you chose? Your chosen family may be unique and they were all chosen for a specific reason, but what about the family that you already had? The dialogue is great and I feel as though I am actually with the characters throughout the novel.
