This book was hard to get into at first, but FIREBORNE quickly consumed me and made me want to read more. I didn’t love everything about it, specifically how confusing some of the politics and ranking were, but it was overall a great book. There were so many likable characters, and those who weren’t likable were complex (*cough* Power *cough*). I really loved Lee and Annie, and they’re really great characters to follow. Annie’s growth throughout the story is amazing, and the tests of Lee’s character are many, and I admire his resolve. I never knew what would happen, and I was especially happy with the ending. My favorite character is Duck because of how caring and understanding he is. Power was also really intriguing because he was so outwardly hostile, but willing to help others if it fit his own agenda. Essentially, I found the book a bit confusing but worth the read.
