I think the premise is interesting: a dragon world fantasy with a potential romance between a common girl and a secret royal who are pitted in competition against each other. The book dives in to the characters and this fantasy world very quickly, so much so that it distracted me from the enjoyment of the story, trying to keep up with all the names and rules of this world plus the fast paced action and just the first pages. It felt almost like I was going into a book mid-series where all the background is already established.
