Fireborne's first look opens with slaughter, yet somehow managed to make me feel better that the Revolution happened because Antigone womans up to the politicians trying to interfere with her life. Not only am I so proud of her, but I felt like a victor within the last few sentences of the First Look. I'm looking forward to cheering her on more - and solving the puzzle that is Lee. I see the threads of similar dragon rider themed books that may have inspired the author, but the narrative feels very much its own. And the political spheres of the past and current regimes and how they affect the characters is not skirted or swept under the rug. Well done, Rosaria Munda, well done.
