It opens with a boy's history of a family defeated in rebellion. The boy is spared but he never forgets. He becomes a dragonrider and squares off in a tournament to become one of the elite to protect the realm. I can imagine where this is going. While I liked the first few chapters I don't feel like it drew me in fully.
