I loved this book! I get a little unsure of memoirs, but it was very well written. It was a quick read and I read it in one sitting. I liked how the book was broken down into sections to talk about the author's life. She has definitely been through a lot, but she also shows you that perseverance is key. When you fall down, you get back up. In her case, she fell down multiple times and got back up more times then she was down. They key message that I took away is that you are not a product of your environment. I could relate to the author as I didn't have an easy childhood either, so its all about pushing though and being better or making better choices. This is probably one of the best memoirs I have read. The author was raw and really showed every aspect of her life from the very beginning, middle and end as well as everything in between. I am sure it wasn't easy to share her story, but I loved it!
