Based on the excerpt, I fully expect this to be a beautiful memoir of both food and life. The food descriptions are evocative and mouth watering. I also appreciate how the author ties certain dishes to specific memories. I have never lived in or even visited in Maine, but her descriptions of growing up in a rural town and working in her family's diner are compelling and interesting.
